PDF Reader Pro ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Android application PDF Reader Pro (the "App").

Please read this policy carefully. By downloading and using the App, you agree to the practices described in this document. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App immediately.

2.2 Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data is stored exclusively on your device using a local database. It is never transmitted to our servers:
•PDF file references (URI/path to files you open)
•Reading progress (last page read, scroll position)
•Bookmarks you create, including page number and optional notes
•Favorite and recently opened documents list
•App preferences (theme selection, reading settings, orientation)

We do not read, access, upload, or process the content of any PDF documents you view in the App.

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
•Your name, email address, or any account credentials
•Your precise GPS location
•Contacts, photos, or other personal files
•Payment or financial information
•The content of any PDF documents you open

3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
•To operate, maintain, and improve the App
•To detect and fix crashes and bugs (Crashlytics)
•To understand how users engage with features (Firebase Analytics)
•To serve advertisements and measure their performance (AdMob)
•To comply with legal obligations

5. Advertising
PDF Reader Pro is a free app supported by advertising. We use Google AdMob to display ads, which may include:
•Banner ads on the Home and File Browser screens
•Native ads between document listings and search results
•Interstitial ads after a session-based number of document opens
•Rewarded ads to unlock optional premium features

The reader screen is kept entirely ad-free to protect your reading experience.

5.1 Personalized Advertising
With your consent, AdMob may use your Advertising ID to serve personalized advertisements based on your interests. You may opt out of personalized ads at any time by:
•Tapping Settings > Ads > Personalized Ads toggle in the App
•Going to your device Settings > Google > Ads > "Opt out of Ads Personalization"
•Resetting your Advertising ID in device settings

5.2 Non-Personalized Ads
If you opt out of personalized advertising, you will still see ads, but they will be contextual rather than interest-based. AdMob may still collect some data for fraud prevention and measurement purposes.

6. Storage Access and Permissions

The App uses the Storage Access Framework (ACTION_OPEN_DOCUMENT) to access files. You explicitly grant access to each file you choose to open. The App does not scan or access your storage without your action.

7. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure. Specific practices include:
•All PDF content remains on your device and is never transmitted
•Local database (Room) does not contain sensitive personal data
•Analytics and crash data is transmitted over HTTPS to Google's servers
•Advertising ID transmission complies with Google's Play Store policies

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
PDF Reader Pro is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

9. Your Rights
9.1 European Union / EEA Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have the following rights under GDPR:

9.2 California Users (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

•Delete personal information we have collected
•Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal data)
•Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

10. Data Retention
•Local device data (bookmarks, recent files, preferences): Retained until you uninstall the App or clear App data
•Firebase Analytics data: Retained for 14 months (Google default)
•Firebase Crashlytics data: Retained for 90 days
•AdMob advertising data: Retained per Google's advertising data policies

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. For significant changes, we will notify you via an in-app notification or prompt.

Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
